It began with Orlando Bloom as Will Turner in the first Pirates of the Caribbean film in 2003 a few months before the theatre release of The Return of the King. And then slowly more and more of those of Middle-earth slipped into the Disney Universe. And just to top it all off after the final Hobbit movie Luke Evans who played Bard the Bowman will be portraying that expectorating Gaston in the new Live Action Beauty and the Beast due to be released in 2017.
First we're going to start by listing off those of Middle-earth who have been in the Disney films over the years.
Viggo Mortensen-Frank Hopkins-Hidalgo (I'm pretty sure it's Disney anyway. Look it up for yourself if you want)
Orlando Bloom-William Turner-Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Man's Chest, At World's End and possibly the fifth installment of the Pirates saga: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Andy Serkis- Avengers: Age of Ultron, Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Cate Blanchett-Lady Termaine (Evil Stepmother)-Cinderella (2015, Live-Action)
Luke Evans-Gaston-Beauty and the Beast (2017, yet to be released, Live-Action)
Evangeline Lilly-Ant-Man
Lee Pace-Ronan-Gaurdians of the Galaxy
So, yeah. Quite a bit, huh? I've seen that quite a few have been in Marvel films. We've got two elves already in Marvel, how about it Orlando? Just asking...just saying he'd be really good in one of their films. I have to say, each of these proud Middle-earthians bring such much more wonder to these wonderful Disney characters. Disney should be proud to have such amazing people working for them. Seriously. I think all of these people were in Middle-earth before Disney. Let me check...yup, that's why they're so awesome. Although I would like to see some if not all of them play the voices for a Disney animated feature, I'd go and watch it a billon times. Hehehe. Yeah I find it interesting how people can linger out into other amazing worlds and this is ultimate proof of that.
When I went to go see the new Cinderella I almost couldn't believe how evil Cate was as the Evil Stepmother. She nailed it, man! She is so good...how does she do it?! I also am really super looking forward to Evie's (Evangeline Lilly) role in Marvel's Ant-Man coming to theaters in July. She looks pretty awesome too, and that is why Cate and Evangeline are my two most favourite actresses ever. Yes, because they are simply the best and I love their work. They're both so good at what they do, and speaking of awesome performances.
Even though Lee Pace has only been in one Disney feature so far, and it was Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy he packed a punch in his role as; Ronan the Accuser. Oohh...so evil. And seriously this guy is evil, but I was a little sad to watch him die *sniff*. I recognized him pretty quickly even under all that dark blue and black makeup he was wearing for the role. One of the ways I recognized him so fast was his nose, he had a very distinct able nose, and really hope he'd take that as a compliment if I told him. I tend to know peoples noses really well...just saying. That sounds weird, doesn't it?
I actually saw the first Pirates of the Caribbean film a year or so after I first watched The Lord of the Rings for the first time. It was pretty easy to recognize Orlando who plays Will the young Blacksmith. I intensified him as: The elf-guy from Lord of the Rings. As you can tell I had yet to remember Legolas's name, it is kinda sad not remembering your favorite character's name and knowing how much I know about Orlando now makes me giggle at myself. And I really really really really really really hope Orlando will come back for Will in the next Pirates film coming out in two years. But not matter how much I want it I can't change the way it will turn out to be. *sigh* Grrrrr....
Then there's Andy who plays these super-awesome roles. Of course having just seen Age of Ultron a few weeks ago upon seeing Andy in the film I instantly wished he had a bigger part. It was more like a Cameo than a role truth be told. He was in two of the trailers I thought he would have a bigger part than a five-minute one! But again that's how things go sometime. Plus also I'm really curious to see who Andy will be in the upcoming Star Wars film this December. I think Andy will play a Sith. Or maybe not. Some guy with an awesome voice, cause Andy does narrate the first teaser trailer. Hmmm...so much to wonder.
So will we see more Middle-earthians come to the realm of Disney? And will we see some comebacks from characters we know and love? Guess we'll have to wait and see since we don't have a time machine. Grr. I'm still working on that, but I doubt I'll ever succeed. I guess I'll just stick to writing blogs and acting and drawing and stuff. 'Bye then!
Love from Rosie!
