1. It has a beautiful and vast landscape. Everyone who watches it instantly falls in love with the rolling hills and vast forested areas.
2. Great casting. If one of the character had the wrong actor playing them...lets just not go there.
3. Gollum. Andy Serkis's performance of Gollum and Weta Digital's CG work...AMAZING.
4. Relatable characters. You feel for Frodo and Sam, you understand how the Ring is taking Frodo away from reality. You believe Aragorn, you know he doesn't wish to take the throne and rule, but you know he's the only one capable for the job. Legolas doesn't talk much but even though he's an elf of few word, you believe just by looking he's a character not worth passing up.

Gimli is pretty much the only dwarf in the movie, but you get the whole feel of the dwarf race through John Rhys-Davies Performance. Merry and Pippin's friendship is just so believable, I can totally relate to what they have. I have a few BFFS I'd do pretty much anything for. Boromir's seduction of the Ring then his realization of his wrong before his death *sniff*. Truly the list could go on with the characters, so I'll just stop with the Fellowship, and I'll probably have a whole post on just the characters of Middle-earth.
5. Relatable story. The story of Frodo's quest to destroy the Ring is in a way a story most can relate to in their own way. The Ring could represent not just an evil in your life but daily struggles, and other such things that we may need to cast away.
6. Amazing detail. The detail on pretty much anything in these movies is pretty much flawless. the intricate deigns on the clothing the 'background' props and extras... whoa. It still continues to amaze me.
7. Well coordinated battle sequences. Helm's deep, Battle of Pellenor Fields....need I say more? They're simply awesome, don't believe me? GO WATCH THE MOVIES.
8. Great Dialogue. I often find myself quoting various people from Middle-earth, my favorite quote at the moment is: 'Do not think I will kill you dwarf...it would be my pleasure' -Legolas, Desolation of Smaug
9. Its a trilogy that will be around for a LONG TIME. And I know for sure I'll be teaching my kids of Middle-earth.
10. AWESOME DIRECTOR!!!!! Peter is a fan of the books and story, he does it justice and makes an awesome movie otherwise, thanks so much Peter and Team!!!!!
